Nicolas Longuet rejoint Red Bull Racing Esports. Le Français complète l’équipe autrichienne pour les F1 Esports Series de 2019.
The F1 Esports Series season kicked off last weekend in London. After online qualifiers, the best simracers gathered in the English capital for the Pro Draft. A LAN competition in which a Frenchman distinguished himself.
A Frenchman at Red Bull in F1… Esports
Nicolas Longuet, 17, has indeed displayed his talent. Winning the first race, he secured a place among the last 24 qualified drivers. After further discussions and talks, Red Bull Racing Esports finally chose to recruit him.
Like Pierre Gasly this season, Nicolas Longuet is therefore joining the bull family to race there in F1, this time virtually. A decision far from being played in advance, as the team manager of the formation, Danny Engels admits:
“Being the 5th team to choose, we didn't expect to have such a talented driver. Nicolas is a guy (sic) who started esports about a year ago, and he really impressed us in our face to face talks. "
Mainly interested, "Chro" (from his gamertag, editor's note) is in any case delighted to make his arrival at Red Bull Racing Esports:
"I only started simulating a year ago, so doing it already means a lot to me, that's all I've ever wanted. "
He will team up with two regulars on the F1 eSport circuit, Frederik Rasmussen and Joni Törmälä. After the qualifying and team building events, remember that the 2019 F1 Esports Series will start on September 11. Twelve races in four events are on the program, with € 500,000 in cash prizes.
